Maintenance for after use and before Autoclaving

- Remove bur from Handpiece.
DO NOT submerge handpiece in any solution.

- Wipe away any external debris using a non-alcoholic approved disinfectant wipe.
- Using a dry tissue, remove any excess detergent leftover on the handpiece from the wipe.
DO NOT use any chemical solution or submerge in water.

- Select the appropriate motor for the handpiece model you are lubricating.
- Connect the motor securely to the lubrication system, ensuring a tight fit to prevent leaks during lubrication phrase.
- Make sure to point the handpiece heads towards the absorbent pads whenever available. If absorbent pads are not included as a standard part of the system, using clean paper towels for each cycle would suffice.

- Allow the lubrication system to run its cycle, ensuring that it completes the lubrication process thoroughly.
- Wait until the lubrication cycle finishes before proceeding to the next step.
Check absorbent pads or paper towels for any discoloration indicating oil contamination. If discolourations observed, prompty seek guidance from MC Repairs.

- After lubricating the handpiece, remove it from the adaptor.
- Seal the pouch according to the manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring a tight seal to maintain sterility.

- Before placing your equipment in the autoclave, ensure you’ve selected the correct cycle and verified that the autoclave temperature does not exceed 138°C .
- Load the items to be sterilised into the autoclave chamber according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Best Practices for cleaning and maintaining Equipment:
Avoid Chemical Disinfectants: Refrain from using chemical disinfectants, abrasive cleaners, or antibacterial soaps as cleaners.
Avoid Submerging: Avoid submerging any handpieces into any type of liquid for cleaning or disinfection.
Avoid Ultrasonic Cleaners: Do not utilise ultrasonic cleaners for cleaning any handpieces.
Ensure Proper Installation: Ensure all instruments are removed from your handpiece or equipment prior to cleaning and lubricating.
Autoclave: When autoclaving do not exceed a temperature of 138°C and do not overfill trays as this will prevent full sterilisation.
