Everyday Maintenance of the Peizon© Scaler

This guide outlines the correct procedures to help you maintain your EMS instruments to the highest standard.
Daily Maintenance for Cleaning the EMS Peizon® Scaler (LED & NON-LED)
- Innetween each patient.
- Always ensure that the scaler is replaced with a sterile handpiece between each patient.
- Once scaler and instrument is removed, wipe down the products to remove any dust or debtis and eliminate coarse soiling.
- Attach the CombiTorque® to the PIEZON® instrument and unscrew it by turning counterclockwise.
- Separate the PIEZON® instrument from the CombiTorque®.
- Clean manually or automatically using a washer or disinfector, then dry and inspect according to the EMS reprocessing guide.
- Separate and remove the scaler nose cone, light guide, and red O-ring.
- Clean manually or automatically using a washer disinfector.
- Inpsect the scaler thoroughly before sterilisation.
- If you notice any damage to the nose cone, light guide or red o-ring, please send the scaler to us for inspection.
- Reinstall the instrument used with its CombiTorque®.
- Place both items into a single sterilisation pouch and sterilise after cleaning.
- The PIEZON® Scaler must be sterilised and dissasembled seperately.
- Ensure it is packaged into a separate pouch after cleaning or disinfection.
- Please allow the PIEZON® Scaler to cool down naturally before reassemble.

Best Practices for cleaning and maintaining Equipment:
Avoid Chemical Disinfectants: Refrain from using chemical disinfectants, abrasive cleaners, or antibacterial soaps as cleaners.
Avoid Submerging: Avoid submerging any Air Polisher, handpieces and nozzles into any type of liquid for cleaning or disinfection.
Avoid Ultrasonic Cleaners: Do not utilise ultrasonic cleaners for cleaning any equipment.
Ensure Proper Installation: Ensure all instruments are removed from your equipment prior to cleaning and lubricating
Autoclave: Don’t exceed a temperature of 138°C avoid overfilling trays as this will prevent full sterilisation.
