Everyday Maintenance Of The NSK Prophy-Mate Neo Air Polisher

This guide outlines the correct procedures to help you maintain your NSK instruments to the highest standard.
Daily Maintenance for Cleaning the NSK Prophy-Mate Neo Air Polisher
- At the end of each day, thoroughly clean the powder chamber by removing any residual powder.
- Use compressed air to clear out any remaining water or powder from inside the nozzle.
- If you notice any hardened powder buildup or damaged O-Rings on the powder container, send it to MC Repairs promptly.
- Attach your desired blower nozzle to the coupling and secure it at the end of the handpiece.
- Run air (without water) through the system for no more than 5 to 10 seconds to clear the lines.
- Use the blower nozzle in the same manner to clear the lines within the handpiece nozzle.
- Wipe and clean the handpiece joint and the O-ring section of the powder case using the supplied cleaning brush.
- Apply lubrication oil to the joint and O-ring section, gently massaging it in with your fingers.
- Double-check the powder case cap O-ring for any damage and ensure it is thoroughly cleaned before sterilisation.
- If you notice any damaged O-rings to this area, send the Air Polisher into us for repair.
- Disassemble the powder case cap and rinse it thoroughly under running water.
- Before autoclaving, remove any nozzles, powder caps, and handpieces, as all parts of autoclaveable.
- Place all equipment in a sterilised pouch and perform a sterilisation cycle at 135°C, following NSK sterilisation standards .

Best Practices for cleaning and maintaining Equipment:
Avoid Chemical Disinfectants: Refrain from using chemical disinfectants, abrasive cleaners, or antibacterial soaps as cleaners.
Avoid Submerging: Avoid submerging any Air Polisher, handpieces and nozzles into any type of liquid for cleaning or disinfection.
Avoid Ultrasonic Cleaners: Do not utilise ultrasonic cleaners for cleaning any equipment.
Ensure Proper Installation: Ensure all instruments are removed from your equipment prior to cleaning and lubricating
Autoclave: Don’t exceed a temperature of 138°C avoid overfilling trays as this will prevent full sterilisation.
