Daily Maintenance for cleaning the KaVo PROPHYflex 4 Air Polisher

- Always make sure the Cannula is cleaned and replaced between each patient.
- Use your 3-in-1 syringe to remove any excess powder from both the front and back.
- Avoid chemical wipes and ensure the Cannula is properly sterilised.
- Take off the gripping sleeve of the Air Polisher and check that it’s free of any powder residue.

- At the end of the day, before removing the Air Polisher from the coupling, blow air through at the highest intensity for 10 seconds to clear the lines.
- If any O-Rings are damaged, use your spare Maintenance Kit to replace them.
- If no spare O-Rings are available, send the Air Polisher to our repair center for replacement.

- Double-check that the lines are completely clear using your KaVo Cleaning Drill. Insert it into the shaft of the Air Polisher, twisting as you move in and out.
- Repeat the process from the chamber side of the Air Polisher.
- Use your wrench to remove the powder chamber nozzle. Insert the cleaning drill into the powder chamber, twisting as you move in and out.

- Ensure the KaVo powder nozzle is securely reattached
- Use your wrench to tighten the KaVo nozzle, making sure it is fastened properly.
- If you notice any hardened powder buildup or damaged O-Rings on the powder container, send it to MC Repairs promptly.

Best Practices for cleaning and maintaining Equipment:
Avoid Chemical Disinfectants: Refrain from using chemical disinfectants, abrasive cleaners, or antibacterial soaps as cleaners.
Avoid Submerging: Avoid submerging any Air Polisher, handpieces and nozzles into any type of liquid for cleaning or disinfection.
Avoid Ultrasonic Cleaners: Do not utilise ultrasonic cleaners for cleaning any equipment.
Ensure Proper Installation: Ensure all instruments are removed from your equipment prior to cleaning and lubricating
Autoclave: Don’t exceed a temperature of 138°C avoid overfilling trays as this will prevent full sterilisation.
Please note: These are generalised guidelines as recommended by MC Repairs Ltd. For exact guidelines, please refer to the KaVo user manual.
